    What is the Nurturing Programme?
Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging. The Nurturing Programme helps deal with those challenges so you have a calmer, happier family life. A tried and tested programme, it helps us think about what we do, why we do it and how it makes us feel. What does it cover? Over the  4 week Programme, you will look at lots of different topics including: Understanding why children behave as they do Recognising the feelings behind behaviour (ours and theirs) Exploring different approaches to discipline Finding ways to develop co-operation and self-discipline in children The importance of looking after ourselves

During these sessions we also have an experienced Breast feeding counsellor, who will be able to  give you advice and support with all your breastfeeding queries. In addition, the staff at St Piers Children's Centre have been trained following the Baby Friendly Initiative and Unicef standards to be able to answer some of your queries on infant feeding. The line opens at 8.00 am until 5.00 pm Monday to Friday ( except Bank Holidays) If you have a problem with transport to get to the Children's Centre you may be interested to know about the Buses 4 U.
